PhD. and MSc in Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, both at the University of Groningen (RUG); BSc. In Biology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ)

What you teach at University College Groningen:

Courses in Health and Life Sciences.

Research:

During my PhD I have studied the effects of targeted delivery of Interleukin-10 to the fibrotic liver. I have also some research experience in parasitology and tropical diseases.

Personal Facts

My favourite food is...
A good Brazilian barbecue and cherries. I love cherries!

My favourite thing about Groningen is…
Difficult to choose. I guess it is everything!

My favourite place in the world is…
My house.

Something most people don’t know about me is...
That I was born and raised in a military dictatorship and that I used to work as a professional swimming referee.

My biggest achievement is...
Raising my children. One is a nice grown woman that gave me a cute grandson. My two boys are still “work in progress”, but this is also going really well.

When I’m not working I’m busy...
Enjoying my family or a nice conversation with my friends.

My inspiration is...
Nature, science, reason and good-hearted people (Am I being cheesy?)
