For students
Would you like to conduct research that doesn't end up in the drawer of your lecturer? At the science shop Language, Culture and Communication you conduct research with a societal purpouse, with and for societal organisations. The result of this research is immediately applicable in real life, and therefore a fun challenge!
How can I do a project with the Science Shop?
In most cases, a research project through the Science Shop involves a bachelor's or master's thesis and a practical product, such as a report, an advisory document, a publication, presentation, or an exhibition. We also offer projects within the Faculty’s new career minor. In other cases, a Science Shop project is linked to a course in the curriculum, or you can work on it on a voluntary basis.
What is the role of the Science Shop in this project?
Doing research for social organizations requires a professional attitude. The Science Shop acts as an intermediary between you and the organization and ensures that the research you conduct is both feasible and aligned with your studies. Staff members also support you in developing skills that are valuable for the job market, such as project planning and professional communication. The Science Shop always organizes a kick-off meeting for everyone to get acquainted, and at the end of the project, you present your results to the client.
