Society/business Science Shops Language, Culture and Communication

For university teachers

Want students to conduct research for clients? That’s possible in collaboration with the science shop for Language, Culture and Communication. The science shop collaborates with various clients in the fields of language, communication, and heritage. We are also active within the career minor.

What is the role of the science shop in projects with clients?
The science shop acts as an intermediary between the student and the organization and ensures that the research is feasible and fits sufficiently within the curriculum. Staff members also support students in developing skills that are valuable for the job market, such as project planning and professional communication. The science shop ensures that the project is made visible on the website and through other channels. In the event of conflicting interests between the academic program and the client, the science shop mediates to ensure both parties remain satisfied.

What is my role as a lecturer in a science shop project?
As a lecturer, you supervise your students in terms of content and assess whether the work meets the program’s requirements. Depending on your own preferences and the type of assignment, you may also have direct contact with the client. This way, you can establish valuable connections for possible future research.
