New technological knowledge is constantly being acquired within the University of Groningen and other universities. Examples are data science, robotics, artificial intelligence, visualization, Internet of Things, astronomy and sports medicine. This knowledge is mainly distributed through professional literature that is not easily accessible to a wider audience. There is also no suitable platform for researchers to share their knowledge and enthusiasm, so that many scientific developments are a 'hidden gem'. TechTalks050 wants to change this. It provides space for scientists to present their new insights to a broadly interested audience and to discuss these new insights.
In addition to a researcher, there is also a presentation from the practice on the same topic. An entrepreneur or trend watcher translates the scientific facts into practical consequences, for the society of today or in the future.
In collaboration with various partners from the region, the Center for Information Technology (CIT) of the University of Groningen wants to bring researchers together with companies, experts and newcomers in the field of digital and technological trends. There are many developments in technology that deserve the attention of a broad, interested public.
