Call for Proposals Data Science: deadline 15 September

The team Data Science of the Center for Information Technology (CIT) invites researchers of the University of Groningen to submit proposals for innovative data science projects.

Data scientists deploy innovative techniques to extract knowledge from data using a combination of skills in the areas of machine learning, artificial intelligence, computing science, statistics and various research domains.

Timeline

The deadline for submission of the pre-proposals is 15 September 2019, the submission of the final proposals and final selection takes place in the autumn of this year.

Research support

Researchers can apply for the support from one or more data scientists (from inside and outside the university) appointed by RIS for a maximum of 450 hours. While being employed by the CIT, the data scientist(s) may work at the researcher's location in order to facilitate collaboration. The duration of a project is max. 2 years. A small bench fee (max €3000) is available for items like databases, licenses, hardware.

Annual IT plan 2016-2020

This call is the second in a series of 4 calls and is funded by the multi annual IT-plan 2016-2020. The next call will be in 2020.
