Study into the Reuse of Learning Materials
Little is known about the extent to which Open Educational Resources are reused and how they are reused. In order to gain more insight into the extent and manner in which Open Educational Resources are reused, Robert Schuwer (professor in OER at Fontys University of Applied Sciences) and Marjon Baas (ICT&O Advisor at Saxion University of Applied Sciences and PhD student at Leiden University) have drawn up a survey for university teachers in Higher Education. It takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete the questionnaire. Thank you for your cooperation!
Educational Resources
Open Educational Resources are digital learning materials that are freely available on the Internet and that a user may modify, reuse, and distribute under certain conditions. Reuse of OER has the potential to increase efficiency (the wheel does not have to be re-invented everywhere) and to improve the quality of education, because the quality of OER is guaranteed by a (professional) community of users.
Benefits of this study
The results will be used as input for activities within the zone "Towards (open) educational resources" in the national Acceleration Plan for Educational Innovation with ICT. In this zone, efforts are being made to achieve an ambition whereby instructors and students are able to determine and use an optimum mix of open and closed resources as efficiently as possible.
