The University of Groningen does not have a campus, meaning the University itself does not have rooms available for students. However, the University of Groningen has arranged for an accommodation organisation called SSH to take care of accommodation for international students in Groningen.
Students receive more information about accommodation upon admission to the LLB programme and can find accommodation with SSH by registering on the SSH website. After registration, the Admissions Office will approve the accommodation request. This will trigger the possibility for students to find accommodation, an exact room, in the online system on the SSH website. After choosing one of the available rooms on the SSH website, students are required to pay the reservation fee, plus first and last month’s rent. Payment can be taken care of through bank transfer or with credit card.
It is important to know that you have to send in the application form quite early - the sooner you send in the form, the better chances of securing a room with them. Keep in mind that rent must be paid for the entire period you are renting a room from SSH. More information about prices and to see pictures of the houses and rooms can be found on www.sshxl.nl.
Further information about finding accommodation in Groningen, including alternatives to SSH, can be found here.
