Renovation of Heymans Building extension to start in April

11 March 2019

Monday 1 April 2019 will mark the start of the construction work on the ‘Old Extension’ to the Heymans Building of the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences (GMW). This space under the Heymans wing was stripped and partly demolished last summer. Contractor Hegeman from Nijverdal will carry out the renovation work, which is expected to last one year.

Setup of the construction site

The contractor will start setting up the construction site on Monday 1 April by placing fences and site cabins and creating alternative walking routes around the site. Please note that there may be preparatory activities in and around the Heymans Building before 1 April.

About the design

The 1800 m2 of gross floor space, spread across three floors under the Heymans wing, will house more study stations, improved teaching facilities and a revamped restaurant with around 250 seats on the ground floor. This building section will become much more sustainable and will see technical improvements. > Read more about the design or View the final design
