What is it about?
The scientific approach followed in the research master Behavioural and Social Sciences focuses on theory-guided empirical data analysis and generalizable explanations of human behaviour and social phenomena.
The programme aims to impart knowledge, skills and understanding in the field of social and behavioural sciences in such a way that the student is capable of performing scientific research in this area. The degree programme prepares students for a PhD position and is therefore part of the Graduate School for Behavioural and Social Sciences.
It builds upon a long-standing collaboration within the faculty between a number of research groups in Sociology, Psychology, and Educational Sciences with a shared interest in the social behaviour of individuals in institutional and cultural contexts. They all focus on methodologically and theoretically advanced research on applied problems.
