Education PhD programmes About the Groningen Graduate Schools

PhD surveys

Every second year, an extensive survey is held among all PhD students of the University of Groningen, assessing their motivation, satisfaction and training environment. This series of surveys has started in 2009 and it has reached its seventh edition in 2021. The results of the surveys are available below.

  • Pilot national PhD survey 2021
In 2021, as a pilot, eight Dutch universities (including the UG) included a series of national questions in their own PhD survey. This will provide national insight into experiences, and satisfaction, with various aspects of the PhD trajectory such as education, supervision, facilities and workload.
The UNL webpage promovendisurvey lists the most important results (in Dutch).
In 2023, all 14 Dutch universities will take the set of national evaluation questions.
