Moving to a completely new country to start university is very exciting! However, building a new life here in Groningen and making friends can be challenging at first. Luckily, Hylke has put together some tips on how to make friends as an international student!

The academic year has begun! Are you ready? Whether you are a new UG student or have been studying here in Groningen for some years, the first study week is exciting but can also be challenging. I'm sharing some tips on how to make the most of the start of the academic year, which will hopefully set you up for succes!

This Thursday, 1 September 2022, the UG is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of our University Council and Executive Board in its current form. In honour of this special occasion, we caught up with Taichi Ochi from the Doughnut Party. He was part of the University Council this year and we were curious what exactly this Council does, how their decisions are made and how he got involved.

After (probably) a long journey to the most Northern city of the Netherlands, you might feel a bit lost and clueless about this new place and hometown. You might also wonder how you’re going to settle here for the next few years.
