Online intensive English and Dutch courses this summer

Stuck at home this summer because, well, you know? Spend your time usefully and follow an online language course at the Language Centre! In the coming months we will be offering lots of short, intensive training courses to immerse you in the language of your choice. Continue reading and find out what you can expect from our online summer courses!
Online does not mean on your own!
Just like every year, we will be offering a range of intensive Dutch and English courses this summer. What’s different, however, is that these courses are now held online for a period of two or four weeks. But learning online does not mean you have to learn on your own. You will be part of an online community!
The teacher will give you a lot of personal attention and the key focus is on learning the language as a group. The lessons themselves focus on speaking and interacting with your fellow students. You will often be working in small groups, which makes it easier to collaborate on assignments and practise your oral skills.
Your independent study hours will be based on the course material, the website that comes with the book, and the University learning environment, which has been expanded with a wide range of online language learning tools. For example, you will be expected to complete speaking assignments together with a fellow student and to take tests. Grammar and pronunciation explanations are provided in the videos that we have created, and there will be plenty of time to ask questions about the independent study material during the lessons.
How is the course structured?
You will follow lessons 4 days a week, for 3 hours per day; from 9 to 10.30 a.m. and from 1.30 to 3 p.m. In addition, you will be expected to spend about 3 hours a day on independent study. So what might an intensive course day look like? Find out here.

Other Dutch courses
In addition to the intensive courses, we will also be offering Online Dutch courses, online conversation courses and online training courses and workshops for native speakers this summer. Check them all in the Dutch summer course timetable!
