Neurodiverse individuals bring unique strengths and challenges to academic research. This workshop aims to equip PhD supervisors with the knowledge and strategies necessary to support neurodiverse PhD candidates effectively. By fostering an inclusive, understanding, and structured supervisory approach, we can enable these students to thrive in their academic journey.

In this interactive workshop, you will learn:

What neurodiversity is and how it applies to PhD supervision

Common neurodivergent profiles (e.g. Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia) and their strengths and challenges

How to create an inclusive supervision environment that fosters success

Best practices for clear communication, expectation setting, and feedback

Practical strategies for adapting supervision to individual needs

By the end of the workshop, you will:
