One-third of all edible food products for human consumption is lost in the supply chain, with large negative effects on our environment. Most of the food (up to 65%) is wasted at the household level, which suggests a mismatch between what consumers purchase in the supermarket and actually consume at home. The goal of this fellowship is to aid students of the honours bachelor course “Sustainable Markets” to build a mobile application or website targeted towards households with the aim to decrease their waste. The students should then test it in the field, promote it to households and assess whether it has an impact food waste.
