Numeracy, i.e. the skill to interpret, present, manipulate and generate knowledge in the form of numerical data, is increasingly important in today's society. Hence, being able to confidently deal with such wealth of information, to reliably extract relevant pieces, and from it built new knowledge, is a valuable skill. We will design a dedicated course as part of the University College Liberal Arts and Science bachelor program to enhance numeracy. We will explore highly interactive modern teaching approaches to overcome an apparently innate 'formula-fobia' among non-science students and challenge student to analyse real-life cases and present their findings. Such cases are not necessarily rooted in physics, but taken from the broadness of the UCG student's interests.
