The site is not only a gift to nature-lovers in the Netherlands, but also of scientific importance. ‘It offers a lot to scientists,’ says Sijtsma. ‘All of these visitors contribute to a greater knowledge of who values nature and why, giving us greater understanding of effective online engagement with natural areas.
