The RUG and the other five Northern universities of professional education meet regularly. These institutions are the Hanze University Groningen, the Drenthe University of Professional Education, the Noordelijke Hogeschool Leeuwarden, Stenden University and Van Hall Larenstein.
These meetings primarily focus on promotion of joint interests with regard to the government and other parties in the North, but also on education coordination, enabling students to switch programmes or universities with as little delay as possible.
Good educational co-ordination by means of a series of pre-Master’s programmes has become increasingly important since the introduction of the Bachelor/Master system.
