Staff can use Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Google templates to create documents in the house style. In Word and PowerPoint, these are available under the /RUG tab. In Google (once you have logged in) the templates can be found via Google Docs. In Excel, you can use the button on the far right to create a header. You can also use Word/DotOffice to create an email signature.

A limited number of templates are available for students.

Installing Word and PowerPoint templates (DotOffice) (managed PC) DotOffice has to be installed (just once):

  • Click the start button
  • Type DotOffice and click DotOffice installer when this option appears in the list displayed further up the screen
  • Start Word or PowerPoint

In the top left-hand corner, you will see the /RUG tab. Is the /RUG tab missing? If so, go to the Add-ins tab and click the DotOffice button.

Installing Word and PowerPoint templates (DotOffice) (managed PC)

In this environment, you can access the standard University WorkPlace via

  • Go to and log in with your P number and password. When logging in for the very first time, select the Citrix Workspace app
  • Select the Workspace Desktop

In the browser window, a desktop will now be launched, featuring all of the centrally available applications.
