New insurance for footballers
UG lecturer and researcher Arvin Kolder would like to see an insurance especially for footballers. In the current damage compensation and insurance regulations football players are not eligible for personal injury compensation or only in very exceptional cases.
In a recent article in the journal Aansprakelijkheid, Verzekering & Schade personal injury lawyer Kolder states that the position of amateur and professional football players needs to be improved. Football players may face the consequences of an injury for the rest of their lives: loss of income due to a disability, medical expenses, the need for household help and other support, and compensation for pain and suffering.
