After this award the local newspaper Dagblad van het Noorden reached out to write an article about us. And we are thrilled about that!

The article, as part of the yearly education supplement, depicts the BA/BSc Liberal Arts and Sciences, the students, the staff, and the warm environment at the faculty.

Our study programme has reached a high number of applications in recent years but our selection has guaranteed the correct student-teacher ratio.

This results out of how students rate us in the yearly National Student Survey (NSE) conducted by the Studiekeuze.

University College Groningen faculty has a separate status within the University of Groningen: guaranteed housing for first-year students, no massive lectures, and faculty and students who address each other by first name. (Frank von Hebel - Dagblad van het Noorden 18 January, 2022)

Hanny Elzinga - Dean of UCG since February 2020 - told us:

I am thrilled to see the work of students and our staff being recognized in this beautiful issue of the 2022 Onderwijsbijlage (= education supplement). It really does reflect the community feeling that you have at our Faculty.
I started working at UCG right at the beginning of the pandemic.

The first feeling that I was met with once I came to here, was a feeling of being welcomed. I still remember that feeling very well, because it shaped my entire experience. It is incredibly important to have that feeling when you come to a new community, new city, new surroundings. Our students are very driven and determined to explore their interests in our broad study program designed for the leaders of the future. With out support system interwoven between guidance and careers, they are prepared for their next step.

Sienie Luinstra - Student Affairs Officer -  and Hugo Rosado - ICT and Facilities Coordinator:

We have been working at UCG since the foundation of our Faculty and we are extremely proud to be still part of such an innovative and open environment.

Sander van den Bos - Managing Director:

I am grateful and proud to be a part of a Faculty that does not only provide excellent education but is also a vibrant inclusive community for students and staff.
After recently receiving our top rated programme label we are also very excited that this article highlights the depth and strength of our community.
