Top rated programme

Ten University of Groningen (UG) Bachelor’s degree programmes have been awarded the ‘Top Degree Programme’ quality label by the Dutch Higher Education Guide for Universities (Keuzegids) 2022, placing them among the top in Dutch academic education. Last year seven programmes received the label. In the category ‘Broad-based General Universities 2022’, the UG is in a shared third place (of six) this year.
Our BA/BSc in Liberal Arts and Sciences has been awarded the "Top Rated Programme" quality label in this year's Keuzegids.
The press (RTV Noord) has mentioned us in the official announcement:
Compared to other Dutch universities, the UG scores above average for its interdisciplinary programs, where students can follow a program composed of various disciplines. University College Groningen (UCG), for example, a part of the RUG where, following the American College model, students do not have to choose a specific course of study from the start, was given the label 'top education'.
We are thrilled to have received this recognition and, in this special moment, our Faculty Board has released this statement:
Only programmes that reach an overall score of 75 and higher receive this special title, and it marks the high quality level of our LAS programme.
We are exceptionally proud of this achievement, and we would like to thank all UCG staff members, who have been working tirelessly and with such dedication even during times of crisis. This result is a direct compliment to all our staff members, whether it is the UCG academic and support staff or the academic staff from other faculties that teach courses at UCG.

The Dutch Higher Education Guide for Universities is published annually by the Centre for Higher Education Information (CHOI; Centrum Hoger Onderwijs Informatie) and is intended for school pupils and deans who want to inform themselves about university Bachelor’s degree programmes.
