- Pluralist Education
We encourage our students to critically examine the opinions, ideas, and approaches of their instructors, their peers, and themselves. We teach students to integrate various—and even conflicting—lines of reasoning.
This sensibility manifests in what one of our students has described as “focused flexibility”: that is, pursuing learning goals with purpose, whilst being able to adapt to unexpected outcomes using insights and methods from different academic disciplines.
- Singular Community
We aspire to create a rich and diverse community for our students and staff members. To achieve this, we believe that real diversity is much more than ensuring that a range of minorities are represented in our staff and student body and tolerating differences.
True diversity necessitates compassion and inclusion; respecting differences and using those differences to create a stronger team. A strong team encourages all of its members to expand their horizons and collectively cross cultural, ideological, religious and other boundaries.
