Dead Sea Scrolls in the Drents Museum
In 2013, the Qumran Institute of the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies and the Drents Museum will organize an exhibition about the famous Dead Sea Scrolls. Mladen Popovic, director of the Qumran Institute, is closely involved in this project. The manuscripts and objects text provide a wealth of information about the history and culture of Judaism and Christianity.
Foreign student in University Council
International psychology student Ritwik Swain from England was voted into the University Council by an overwhelming majority. He is the first ever foreign student to sit on the University Council. Ritwik Swain speaks of his ambitions.
Sport meets Science
Initiator Chris Visscher tells about the Sport Science Institute where the University of Groningen, the UMCG and the Hanze University of Applied Sciences will bring together their sport research and teaching. ‘Sport and healthy ageing’, sport performance’ and ‘sport and sustainable society’ are the main focuses of the new Sport Science Minor.
