Introductory Course on Grid computing
|Audience:||Anyone interested in getting started with Grid computing|
The main focus of the tutorial will be on gaining access to the Dutch Grid Facilities (part of the European EGEE GRID), and becoming acquainted with the EGEE middleware called gLite. During the tutorial, participants can obtain certificates to gain access to the GRID. It is important to note that participants who want to obtain a certificate must show a passport or driving licence!
The tutorial is a hands-on tutorial: the participants will be able to play with toy example programs in practical exercise sessions. However, they are strongly encouraged to bring their own (small to medium-sized) codes with them, capable of running on Linux IA32 architectures, and try to port these to the grid.
At the end of the course you will be able to use the grid to submit jobs, compile programs and store data.
No special knowledge is required
This two-day course has practical exercises after each tutorial
With enough interest, this course will be given on demand. To enrol in this course, please complete the 'contact us' form.
