Photo report: the map magician
Recently an article appeared in the UG Magazine about CIT employee Leon van der Meulen and his great paaion: (old) cards. It is not only his passion, he really works with it. At the Geodienst - part of the CIT - he and his colleagues create maps in support of research. The maps are made based on open geographical sources.
In the collection of the University Library, Leon discovered a beautiful old map of Groningen from 1575. Inspired by this style, he made a new map of contemporary Groningen.
