HTSF Conference, 2015
On behalf of the academic conference committee Peter van der Sijde (VU-Amsterdam), Gary Cook (University of Liverpool) and Aard Groen (University of Groningen & University of Twente), this is an invitation to participate in the HTSF conference 2015. This year the University of Groningen Centre of Entrepreneurship (UGCE) will be the host of the conference in close collaboration with SOM research institute of the school for economics and business.
In the HTSF conference researchers on knowledge (technology and other knowledge) intensive entrepreneurship convene to discuss the current state of research on technology based entrepreneurship in small and large, new and old firms. Furthermore, as much of the work presented is work in progress we would like to discuss the future of this research. Special topic this year will be the ways how to organize research exchange in our HTSF technology based entrepreneurship community. Therefore, several (associate-) editors of journals in our field will be present. Moreover it includes a special programme for young researchers studying the next generation of technology (and science) based entrepreneurship research. This special programme consists of a three day doctoral program (starting on June 3) and the conference days.
This conference will include key notes on technology based entrepreneurship research, teaching and support, both from academic speakers (a.o. Dr. Andreas Rauch, U.Groningen, prof. Steven Walsh, UNew Mexico/UT) as well as from practice and policy. We will give you the opportunity to present and discuss your research papers (from work in progress to almost ready for publication). We will organize a PhD research training where PhD’s can present and discuss their work with experienced researchers.
Several editors of entrepreneurship and innovation journals will be there (e.g. Technovation, Creativity and Innovation Management, Technology Forecasting and Social Change), and there will be good opportunities to discuss your work with them.
NIKOS (The Netherlands Institute for Knowledge Intensive Entrepreneurship) Venturelab International and the hosting institute UGCE (University of Groningen Centre of Entrepreneurship) sponsor this event.
This seminar (and the Young Researchers programme) will accept papers on themes relevant to technology (and science) entrepreneurship, business creation and growth, entrepreneurial ecosystems, social entrepreneurship and university-industry collaboration, and entrepreneurship education.
Please let us know whether you consider your paper a working paper (work in progress) or a competitive paper (almost) ready for publication. All research in all stages of development can be submitted as a proposal for the conference.
To be admitted to the conference we like to receive an extended abstract (500 words) in which you describe your core research question, method, results and adding value to the literature. Abstracts must be submitted before 1st April, before 10 april we will inform you on the acceptance. Full papers must be submitted by 10th of May 2015. All papers will be considered for a best paper awards (best research paper and best practical paper, best young researcher paper). All papers are to be presented at the Conference (20 minutes, plus 10 minutes for questions and discussion). All scientific papers presented will be considered for one or more special issues of the journals present.
