It is an honour to welcome you here at the University of Groningen. UGCE, University of Groningen Centre of Entrepreneurship, is the university wide centre for entrepreneurship development. It is placed in a school with the University college from the perspective that also the liberal art & science program is a multidisciplinary collaboration between in principle all school of the UoG. Together we teach students to become academically competent and critical, including the 21st century skills, of which entrepreneurial skills form an important part.
In the University of Groningen in most schools some form of entrepreneurship education exist. Also in some cases in collaboration with international partners, such as Uppsala University where we teach entrepreneurship at the same time in an international master on innovative medicine. A first practice for us doing virtual classroom techniques. Many forms and levels of entrepreneurship is being taught here, ranging from an extra curricular evening course, two full half years minors, to master specializations and electives for PhD students who consider becoming an entrepreneur. In addition we strive for making the step towards entrepreneurship easier by a pre-incubator/accelerator program Venturelab North, and a dedicated student arrangement to also support study progress parallel to entrepreneurial activities.
So the Listo project is not coincidentally a welcome project for us, but actually of great importance. We hope to co-develop with you some very interesting forms of international-interdisciplinary learning for entrepreneurship.
I am looking forward to a good workshop and wish you also a lot of pleasure in and around the program.
