Educational Leadership Programme (ELP)

Rapid technological advancements, shifting labor market demands, the need to prepare students for careers that don't yet exist, and global challenges like climate change and social inequality require universities to adapt continuously. At the same time, educational policy changes and internal quality processes demand vision and innovation in teaching and learning. This context creates a growing need for educational leaders, academics who can shape an educational vision, drive innovation, and lead change across programmes and faculties. That’s why the University of Groningen and the University of Twente co-organise the Educational Leadership Programme (ELP).

The Educational Leadership Programme is an intensive 14-month course for academic staff who are taking a formal or informal leadership role in education. Participants of the ELP engage with topics in educational science, leadership, and change management, while working on an authentic educational challenge connected to their faculty or institution. More information about the aims and set up of the programme can be found in this brochure and on this website.

ELP Alumni Network

ELP alumni are educational leaders who have successfully led innovations at programme and faculty level. They actively contribute to the development of education at the University of Groningen and the University of Twente, in a variety of ways. ELP-Alumni have experience in working on challenges such as lifelong learning and future-proof education including teams such as (increasing) flexibility of our education and transdisciplinary education.

When the programme has finished, ELP alumni are invited to the ELP alumni network. This network organizes activities in which alumni can come together, exchange and continue learning from each other.

ELP alumni can offer valuable input on educational challenges within your university. For advice, feedback, or inspiration, please contact the ELP coordinator to explore how ELP-alumni can support your initiative.
