Research GBB Biomolecular X-ray Crystallography Group

Biomolecular X-ray Crystallography Group

The Biomolecular X-ray crystallography group is headed by Associate Prof. Albert Guskov, and is embedded in the GBB Institute.

The main research interest of the group is unraveling the complex fluxes of divalent and trivalent cations across the biological membrane as well as amino acid transport. Furthermore, we are interested in large macromolecular complexes. In our research, we use the combination of macromolecular X-ray crystallography and single particle cryo-electron microscopy as well as various biochemical and biophysical techniques as well as Molecular Dynamics simulations. Additionally, the group has an interest in macromolecular crystallization and serial crystallography techniques.
