KHMW Graduation Award in Astronomy 2025 for Sten Sipma

On Monday 24 November 2025 Sten Sipma of the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute was presented with the KHMW Young Talent Graduation Award in Astronomy 2025 by the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities (KHMW) during a ceremony in the Hodshon house in Haarlem.

Sten received the award for his MSc thesis "An Evolutionary Model for the Milky Way’s Corona".

The Young Talent Awards are are made available by businesses, foundations, and funds in the respective fields for the advancement of higher scientific education in the fields of science and engineering. The KHMW hosts the judging and awards ceremony each year.
