Eng. M. (Michiel) de Koe

Michiel de Koe started in 2010 as a PhD-fellow research into the legal basis for determining the price and the value of leasehold in rural areas. Besides the professional interest in leasehold and the recent discussion about leasehold on the Wadden-islands, the expatriation to Kuala Lumpur for four years led to the inquiry. Part of the research is to compare law on leasehold in Southeast Asia.

Professionally he is involved in leasehold, particularly in rural areas: as a consultant in expropriation cases, as property appraiser in leasehold, as an expert in arbitration committees and as director of an investment fund in arable land on leasehold basis. Professional qualifications are: agricultural engineer (Wageningen Agricultural University, 1991), NVR sworn steward (since 1999), Registered Real Estate appraiser in rural and commercial property (since 2001) and Member of RICS (since 2010).
