Cisca Wijmenga awarded 2019 European Society of Human Genetics award
On 18 June 2019, department Prof Cisca Wijmenga was awarded the 2019 European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG) award during the annual ESHG conference. The award recognizes her ground-breaking work using systems genetics to interrogate and understand complex diseases such as coeliac disease and type 2 diabetes. Her research and its impact were acknowleged as crucial breakthroughs in the field of human genetics.
