Organisation

The CRHC-Section is part of the Groningen Centre for Health Law (GCHL), which is based at the Department of Transboundary Legal Studies (TLS) and is one of the Centres of Expertise of the Faculty of Law. This embedding allows the Section to enter into several collaborative agreements.

The Section includes an Administrative Board (AB), composed of Dr. J.H.H.M. (Jozef) Dorscheidt and Prof.dr. B.C.A. (Brigit) Toebes, both of the Groningen Centre for Health Law (GCHL), Faculty of Law, University of Groningen. The AB is supported by a Board of Governors, being:

• Prof.dr. J.E. Doek, emeritus professor of family law and youth law, Free University of Amsterdam and the University of Leiden, and former Chairperson of the UN-Committee on the Right of the Child in Genève;
• Mw. Dr. S.F.M. Wortmann, member of the Supreme Administrative Court and former professor of family law and youth law, University of Groningen.
• Previously, Prof.dr. E. Verhellen (†), emeritus professor of youth protection law & children’s rights, University of Ghent (Belgium), founder and former director of the Ghent Centre for Children’s Rights.
