LLM in Energy and Climate Law

Programme requirements

In order to obtain an LLM degree in International and European Law: Energy and Climate Law a candidate must successfully complete a total of 60 ECTS:
a. Six compulsory courses:
-   Climate Law (6 ECTS)
-   Economics of Regulation (6 ECTS)
-   Energy Contracting (6 ECTS)
-   Energy Law and Policy (6 ECTS)
-   Energy Market Law (6 ECTS)
-   Energy Investment and Trade Law (6 ECTS)
b. The seminar International Environmental Law (6 ECTS)
c. Master’s thesis (18 ECTS)

Programme structure

The programme consists of six courses (minimum), a seminar and the writing of a Master’s thesis. The programme requires one year, full-time to complete.

Exchange period in the first semester (Fall term), as exchange student:
- Climate Law (6 ECTS)
- Economics of Regulation (6 ECTS)
- Energy Law and Policy (6 ECTS)
- Energy Market Law (6 ECTS)
- Seminar International Environmental Law (6 ECTS)

LLM completion in the second semester as registered regular LLM student (Winter/Spring term), after graduation at home university:
-
Energy Investment and Trade Law (6 ECTS)
- Energy contracting (6 ECTS)
- Master’s thesis (18 ECTS)

The LLM Energy and Climate Law is registered under the LLM CROHO label International and European Law (66829).
