Opening 'Groninger Vrouwengalerij' in UL City Centre

International Women’s Day marks the launch of the Groninger Vrouwengalerij, a portrait gallery that tells the stories of 50 remarkable women from Groningen’s past, both online and in person. The Groninger Vrouwengalerij will be touring the province of Groningen in the form of an exhibition. First stop: the University Library City Centre in Groningen.

Opening

  • On Friday 8 March at 10 a.m., Fleur Gräper, member of the Executive Council of the Province of Groningen, and Carine Bloemhoff, Alderman of the Municipality of Groningen, will open the Groninger Vrouwengalerij in the Jantina Tammeszaal on the fourth floor of the UL City Centre.
  • In addition, former city poet Lilian Zielstra and writer Fieke Gosselaar, both exceptional women of Groningen today, will talk about the remarkable women in their lives.
  • The official programme lasts until approx. 10.45 a.m., after which there will be an opportunity to visit the exhibition.

The opening of the Groninger Vrouwengalerij is part of the Feminist Festival that will be taking place in Groningen on that day.
