Alumnivereniging Geschiedenis

Vele studierichtingen van de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen kennen een alumnivereniging, waaronder ook de opleiding Geschiedenis. Als u bent afgestudeerd in de Geschiedenis (Oude stijl, Bachelor en/of Master) aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, dan behoort u tot de alumni van de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen en kunt u lid worden van de Alumnivereniging Geschiedenis. De Alumnivereniging heeft het doel om het contact tussen afgestudeerden van de Groningse Geschiedenis opleiding te onderhouden en te bevorderen. Door uw lidmaatschap houdt u contact met uw oud-studiegenoten en docenten, en maakt u deel uit van een nuttig netwerk van historici. Bovendien blijft u op de hoogte van het reilen en zeilen binnen de opleiding. Door contact te houden met haar afgestudeerden kan de opleiding Geschiedenis daarnaast inspringen op maatschappelijke ontwikkelingen en aansluiten bij de behoeften van de arbeidsmarkt voor historici.

Twee keer per jaar organiseert de Alumnivereniging een reünie rond een historisch thema. Recente activiteiten waren o.a. een bezoek aan het stadsarchief in Zutphen en een bezoek aan Herinneringscentrum Kamp Westerbork. In samenwerking met de studievereniging voor Geschiedenis GHD Ubbo Emmius wordt jaarlijks een carrièredag georganiseerd waar alumni hun deskundigheid inbrengen. Minimaal twee keer per jaar verschijnt een elektronische nieuwsbrief met o.a. nieuws, activiteiten van de vereniging en de ontwikkelingen binnen de opleiding. Daarnaast houden wij u op de hoogte via onze Facebookpagina.

Archeolumni is the alumni platform for former students of the Biological-Archaeological Institute (BAI) and the Groningen Institute of Archaeology (GIA).

Columni

For whom?

Columni was founded in 1996 and is the association for former students and graduates of degree programmes at the University of Groningen in the field of communication:

• Communication and Information Studies (bachelor)
• Communication Studies, Communication and Education, Computer-mediated communication, Information Science or Digital Humanities (masters)
• General Arts Studies, track Communication, Documentation and Information
• Dutch Language and Literature, specialization Applied Linguistics, Internal and External Communication of Organizations

What does Columni do?

Since the 2019-2020 academic year, Columni has been part of Commotie. Members of Columni are and always have been welcome to attend all study-related activities organized by Commotie. These activities are of professional interest to members and provide opportunities for connecting with fellow former students. The activities are always related to the study programme or university. We keep Columni members informed of activities and other relevant news via our digital newsletter.

E Pluribus Unum (EPU) is the study association for students who study American Studies. EPU’s main goal is to unite all American Studies students, both from the Bachelor and Master programs. By doing so, the study association can represent the entire student body in their interests, and provide them with ample opportunities to expand those interests. EPU organizes a vast array of activities, ranging from monthly (themed) drinks to study trips abroad.

Who can join the alumni association?

The Dutch alumni association is an association for former students of Dutch Language and Culture at the University of Groningen. According to the association’s board, former students of Dutch Language and Culture are the following: individuals who have been associated with the department for a certain period when taking a major, although it does not matter whether they concluded their studies with a degree or not. In addition to these former students, the association is also open to other interested parties, such as former minor students and alumni of associated programmes such as General Linguistics or Medieval Studies.

What does the alumni association do?

The association aims to maintain the bond between members, so they can stay up to date on each other’s activities. The association also aims to inform members on recent developments in the field and within the Dutch department at the University of Groningen.

MIK

MIK is short for Masters in de Kunsten (Masters of the Arts) and is the new name for the alumni association for professionals who have graduated with an Arts degree from the University of Groningen.

Who can become a member?

Members of the association have studied Art and Art Policy, Literary Theory and Criticism, or Arts, Culture and Media. Graduates with a doctoral degree, Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree are welcome to join! You can also become a member if you have not yet graduated.

What was the reason for setting up the association? The alumni association V(O)SKKBrug was founded in 1992 to promote contact between former students and between graduates and their degree programme. The name of the association was changed to MIK in August of 2006, which stands for Masters of the Arts.

Friend of Meander

De Friends of Meander zijn voormalig leden van de studievereniging, oftewel alumni van de opleiding Kunstgeschiedenis of anderen die onze studievereniging willen steunen. Als vriend van Meander krijg je maandelijks een nieuwsbrief, de jaarlijkse almanak en toegang tot alle Meander-evenementen. De contributie bedraagt slechts €17,50 per jaar!

NOHA-afgestudeerdenplatform

Het NOHA-afgestudeerdenplatform is een gemeenschap van afgestudeerden van het NOHA Joint Masterprogramma International Humanitarian Action. Het heeft als doel om de familiesfeer onder alumni te bevorderen en daarnaast de uitwisseling van gedachten over humanitaire acties te faciliteren, waardevolle ervaringen te delen en na het afstuderen van elkaars levens op de hoogte te blijven. Inmiddels is de gemeenschap uitgegroeid tot een netwerk van zo’n 3000 NOHA-professionals, waarvan vele werkzaam zijn in het humanitaire werkveld en op het gebied van internationale ontwikkelingssamenwerking. Ze zijn werkzaam op verschillende leiderschapsniveaus bij verschillende nationale en internationale organisaties en instellingen in het vakgebied en op hoofdkantoren over de hele wereld.
