Multilingualism in Action: Three Classroom Activities to Help Your Students Play with Language

What happens when we stop treating languages as separate boxes and start letting students mix, match, experiment, and have fun with them? In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore three playful classroom activities designed to get students moving between languages, noticing how languages work, and using their full linguistic repertoire as a resource for learning.

Expect plenty of doing, trying, and language play! You’ll experience each activity as a learner before stepping back to consider how and why it works, how you can adapt it for different ages and proficiency levels, and how it can open up new possibilities for multilingual learners in your classroom.

Come ready to play with language—and leave with three activities you can use straight away.
