Because of COVID-19, we are looking for the best hybrid solution for our teaching in the first semester of 2020-2021. In any case, this will mean that we will offer part of our teaching online and at least first year students will have face-to-face education once a week in small groups at the Faculty. This way you will really come into contact with your fellow students, and you will also have direct contact with your teachers.
We are currently working with online study rooms, where you can study online together. Fortunately, you can also go back to the Faculty to study from September, although the capacity will still be limited. And all this of course subject to a new lockdown.
After August 18, we hope to give you more information about which part of our teaching will be offered online and which on-site.
The Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Groningen is a leading European institution for the study of religion. We offer a fully English taught Bachelor's degree programme in Religious Studies and the English taught exchange programme Religion and Culture.
We are proud to be ranked as the best teaching and research centre for religion in the Netherlands. We train students to be independent and critical observers of the place of religion in its cultural and historical context. We are committed to the idea of an international classroom and work with small classes that provide close collaboration between teachers and students. The Faculty is a major hub in a large international network of partner universities; as a student, you can directly profit from these networks that connect Groningen to research and teaching centres worldwide.
