Colloquium Doctum (21+)
A colloquium doctum is an entrance exam: anyone who does not have a diploma that would grant direct admission to the study programme, such as a VWO diploma and is at least 21 years old, may be given the opportunity to take an entrance exam. The colloquium doctum consists of several tests at a VWO final exam level. You can take entrance exams at the Centrale Commissie Voortentamensor at the Boswell-Bèta Institute.
You need to prepare yourself for the exams. More information on entrance exams and the application procedure you'll find here.
If you are holder of a diploma issued outside the Netherlands that provides admission to study at an institution of higher education in your home country but you cannot submit certificates the age limit may also vary. These are special cases and will be assessed on an individual basis.
You can skip the step 'Add previous education' when creating your Studielink account. The UG will receive a signal from Studielink that you have no prior education and will inform you about the possibilities for doing a 21+ test / colloquium doctum.
If you already filled in your prior education in Studielink, it is not possible to change this to colloquium doctum. In that case, contact the Admissions Board if you want to apply for a colloquium doctum.
Proficiency in English is an admission requirement for all English taught degree programmes. You will need to submit proof of proficiency in English as part of the application process. You are exempted for taking an English language test if you can prove that your level of English proficiency is equivalent to Dutch pre-university level (VWO). If required, you can take an English language test at the University's Language Centre. The minimum section scores to be obtained are C1/B2, for writing C1 is required.
More information on entrance exams and the application procedure you'll find here.
