Colloquium Doctum (21+)

A colloquium doctum is an entrance exam: anyone who does not have a diploma that would grant direct admission to the study programme, such as a VWO diploma and is at least 21 years old, may be given the opportunity to take an entrance exam.

  • The colloquium doctum consists of several tests at a VWO final exam level. Please reed Entry requirements for more detailded information.
  • We don't offer examinations but accept certificates form certain institutions. Please reed Entrance exams for more detailed information.

You need to prepare yourself for the exams.

If you are holder of a diploma issued outside the Netherlands that provides admission to study at an institution of higher education in your home country but you cannot submit certificates the age limit may also vary. These are special cases and will be assessed on an individual basis.

Please note!

You can skip the step 'Add previous education' when creating your Studielink account. The UG will receive a signal from Studielink that you have no prior education and will inform you about the possibilities for doing a 21+ test / colloquium doctum.

If you already filled in  your prior education in Studielink, it is not possible to change this to colloquium doctum. In that case, contact the Admissions Board if you want to apply for a colloquium doctum.

Please note! The Bachelor programme in Artificial Intelligence , Biomedical Engineering and Computing Science have a numerus fixus (fixed quota). Prospective students should apply before January 15th, due to the numerus fixus procedure. The admissions procedure is independent of the selection procedure. Information about the selection procedure can be found here.
