Mathematics Summer Course

Every year in August we offer an intensive five day mathematics summer course. Each morning plenary lectures are offered online, during which the theory is explained and examples are demonstrated. Thereafter, tutorials are held in smaller groups. You can opt to take part in these tutorials on campus or online. During the tutorials, you have time to solve problems by yourself and there is a teacher available to help you with all problems you encounter. The general lectures are given in English. However, during the tutorials it is also possible to ask questions in Dutch.

Summer Course 2024:

• Monday 5 to Friday 9 August, from 9:00-18:00 (with breaks)
• Enrolment is open from Tuesday 7 May until Sunday 14 July (end of day). There will be an enrolment link on this website.
• Participation fee: € 550

• The exam on Monday 12 August is included. Note: the exam is only offered on campus.

Good to know

• The Mathematics Summer Course is an intensive one-week course with a concluding exam on the Monday after the course;
• ​Maximum number of participants for the course: 84;
• Course participants are automatically registered for the concluding exam without an additional exam fee.

• You will be offered the choice to either follow all course components online, or only follow the plenary lectures online and attend the tutorials on-campus. State your preference in your registration;
• It is also possible to enroll for the exam only, without taking the course. Go to the exam enrolment page.

Course material

On the first day of the course each participant will receive:

• a syllabus that includes the slides of the lectures with all relevant theory;
• a list with important facts;
• the exercises for the tutorials and homework exercises;
• a test exam.

Cancellation conditions

If you register for the above activity you agree with the following cancellation conditions:

• up to 14 days before the start of the activity: cancellation free of charge,
• within 14 days before the start of the activity: cancellation fee = 50% of the participation fee,
• on or after the starting date of the activity: cancellation fee = 100% of the participation fee.
