FAQ Customized Packages

I have an international diploma with a comparable background, can I apply for a customized entry package?

No, you can only apply for a Pre-Msc. The Admission office will first need to review your portfolio to check your eligibility. You will first need to apply to the Master’s programme, you cannot apply directly to the Pre-Master’s programme. See this page for more information.

I have already started an 'old' customized entry package, what are my options?

Students that have already started the ‘old’ customized entry packages can finish them or change to the new package. In this latter case, you should contact the premsc.feb rug.nl to discuss this further.

I do not qualify for any of the customized entry packages, how can I start with my (pre)master?

BSc students that are not eligible for a customized entry package can apply through Studielink for one of the PreMSc programmes as listed on the website. During the application process the Admissions Board will assess whether any dispensations should be granted (typically for methodology courses); if so the pre-MSc programme for these students is adapted before starting the programme.

I am an HBO student, can I apply for one of the customized entry packages?

HBO students are NOT eligible for these customized entry packages.

I have not yet received all my grades from the customized entry package and my Master is already starting (only February starts), what do I do?

In this case, you are allowed to provisionally start with the Master. You have to enroll to the Masters courses and come to the introductory lecture(s) in the first week. If it turns out that you did not pass all your Pre-MSc courses, you are not allowed to continue with the Master. Please do not forget to apply for the Master before the relevant deadline (January 1st for start in February).

At the moment I am doing a Master programme at another faculty, can I also follow a Pre-Master?

Yes you can. However, you can only participate in Pre-MSc courses (which are officially BSc courses) with a BSc enrollment. So if you are not enrolled in a BSc at the University of Groningen, you have to register for the Pre-MSc through Studielink.
