Why go on exchange?

Studying abroad broadens your perspective, both academically and non-academically. We offer you the opportunity to experience a different culture, for living and studying, and to find interesting academic content outside of the scope of your regular degree programme. Going abroad adds to your employability, since employers generally value “international experience”. In return, the international degree students and incoming exchange students add to the international atmosphere in our classrooms in Groningen. This gives you the opportunity to learn to work in an international environment.

To facilitate you to go on exchange, we included a semester of electives that can be taken at partner schools abroad in all our bachelor programmes. Furthermore, a semester abroad (30 ECTS credits) is a compulsory part of your curriculum when you are in the bachelor of International Business or Economics and Business Economics (track International Economics and Business). Also, we have made most of our English-taught 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate courses and master courses available for international exchange students.

Exchange options

We maintain a (faculty) network of over 130 international academic exchange partners from all over the world and have our own faculty Exchange Office to promote and facilitate international student exchange.
