From 2 to 6 October 2017, the Faculty of Economics and Business organises a Silicon Valley Expedition. Silicon Valley is home to many of the world's largest technology corporations as well as thousands of small startups. Despite the development of other high-tech economic centers throughout the United States and the world, Silicon Valley continues to be the leading center for high-tech innovation and development.
The Expedition is open to companies and professionals from various backgrounds and to high caliber Bachelor, Master and PhD students from our faculty, ranging from Strategic Management and Business Strategy to Technology, Innovation and Marketing. For all participants, t he visit will offer a deeper understanding of how Silicon Valley “ticks”.
Info session 29 June
On 29 June, there will be an info session where interested companies will be informed about all aspects of the Expedition, can ask questions, and can sign up for participation.

Participating in the expedition will give you the opportunity to:
- Engage with industry leaders, entrepreneurs, angel investors, and venture capitalists
- Learn more about entrepreneurship, leadership, strategy development and business and marketing excellence
- Get access to the latest insights and knowledge in International Strategic Management
- Connect to the new generation of Economics and Business talents
- Analyze cases from very different perspectives
Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation
Day 2: Business Culture in Silicon Valley
Day 3: Overview of Start-up Financing in Silicon Valley: Venture & Risk Capital Alternatives
Day 4: Overview of AdTech, Digital Marketing, Mobile & Analytics
Day 4: Cultures of Innovation: Innovation in Successful Organizations and Maintaining the Ability to Innovate
The topics are presented by senior lecturers of the University of Santa Clara at the university campus. The Google, Facebook and “Plug and Play Tech Center” visits are available for the all group. On Day 2, participants may define their program, which might include work on their projects, visits to other companies, museums (e.g. Intel Museum, Autodesk innovation Gallery (both free), Tech Museum, Computer History Museum) and other possibilities that might be of interest to the participants.

We are currently working on recruiting students for the Expedition. Pending the number of interested students and final funding, we will be able to confirm the Expedition as soon as possible.
