Sustainability – UG Carbon Footprint Calculator

We want to make this summer school a sustainable summer school (for instance, we do not have a paper flyer). The University of Groningen has developed a Carbon Footprint Calculator. During the summer school we will measure just how much CO2 the Summer School uses and see if we can gain some insight on how to lower this number.

We will measure traveling emissions of our participants and contributors (encourage them to travel sustainable), we will measure the impact of our lectures, meals and social activities…

At the moment, multiple students are researching what the best way is compensate CO2 emissions. If this research leads to a solid conclusion we will implement it.
