Sievert, Rolf Maximilian

The Swede Rolf Maximilian Sievert (1896 - 1966), son to a businessman was a medical physicist.
He played a pioneering role in the measurement of radiation doses. In later years, he focused on the biological effects of repeated low-dose exposure.
He lent his name to to the sievert, the unit of effective dose and equivalent dose.
