Senior Teaching Qualification (STQ)
In April 2019, the University of Groningen will start with a new edition of the University-wide Senior Teaching Qualification programme (STQ). University teachers with ‘cross-curricular’ responsibility for educational innovation and coordination are invited to participate. The STQ aims to inspire participants in getting started with educational innovation.
The programme is characterized by content-related meetings on strategic education-related themes. Furthermore, the programme involves interaction with experts within the UG and elsewhere and peer feedback sessions on participants’ own improvement projects.
On completion of the STQ programme, participants possess the four quality requirements for Senior Teaching Qualification of the University of Groningen:
- Development of a vision on teaching
- Innovation in teaching
- Testing, evaluation and quality assurance
- Curriculum coordination and coaching
The Staff Development section of the Educational Support and Innovation department organizes the content-related meetings and provides support with the improvement project and STQ portfolio. For all the meetings of the STQ programme experts from the University and external experts are invited to provide workshops related to themes such as change management, curriculum development, assessment at programme level and educational efficiency. Executing an improvement project and peer consultancy will also be important elements of the program.
