French

The French language courses of the University of Groningen Language Centre focus on speaking and understanding French in everyday situations that you might come across in France. A French language course can help you to update your half-forgotten skills or to expand your existing skills. Grammar is used to support the language acquisition.
Language of Instruction
The target language is the language of instruction as much as possible. When necessary, the course is taught in Dutch and/or English.

These courses will be taught as an online interactive group course via Blackboard Collaborate; our online classroom for the coming period! One lesson lasts 90 minutes. Per lesson you should count on 2-3 hours of self-study. Read here everything you can expect from an online language course.
Schedule and registration

Use a Rosetta Stone account for online independent study besides one of our language courses, to keep working on your language skills during and after the course. This is not compulsory for our language courses and will not be used by the teacher.

Determine the starting level of a language training online and in your own time with the placement test! This test gives a global indication of your level for your own reference, for a more personal advice visit our office hour.

Do you want to get an update as soon as we have new courses planned? Subscribe to the Language Centre Newsletter to stay informed about our (new) courses and services.

DELF and DALF are internationally recognised language certificates issued by the French Ministry of Education. The certificates, which are valid indefinitely, can not only be used to demonstrate your level but also to study in France (levels B2 and higher). These tests can be taken at the Institut Français in Groningen.
