Fireside Chat Sheema Kalbasi: ''Never give up''
Last Friday, Sheema Kalbasi joined the UCF Fireside Chat to informally talk with students about her personal and professional development. Sheema is a passionate activist who combines her artistic aspirations with her political engagement and draws inspiration from the many places where she has lived.
It was a full house with over 35 students gathering in Post Plaza, and the conversation covered many topics: from child marriage and how the legal and socio-cultural system may transform this practice, to the use of art as a medium to connect with people and involve them in your activism.
Although everyone was aware that there are still numerous challenges in the world, Sheema maintained very hopeful about the young generation and the change they can instigate. She also elaborated on her own motivation to remain positive, which is to achieve the same opportunities for everyone around the world and particularly her home country Iran.
Asked about the best advice she could give the current students in their own development as change-agents, she responded resolutely: “never give up”.
Thank you for yet another inspirational Fireside Chat Sheema!
