Campus Fryslân and NAOB start seminar series on providing Strategic Advice
The societal challenges facing governments today require professionals who are not only strong in content but can also provide strategic advice in complex administrative environments. With this in mind, the Northern Academy for Public Administration (NAOB) and Campus Fryslân are jointly organizing the lecture series Strategic Advising I: The Basics.
The lecture series is aimed at professionals within the public sector who wish to deepen their advisory skills and learn to operate more effectively within the dynamic interplay of administration, policy, and organization. Participants will gain insight into strategic advising, administrative sensitivity, and dealing with complex societal issues. In doing so, there is a strong focus on the daily practice of government organizations and public institutions.
Through this collaboration, Campus Fryslân and the NAOB continue to build on strengthening knowledge and professionalization within public administration in the Northern Netherlands. The lecture series aligns with current developments within the public sector, where issues surrounding digitalization, societal transitions, regional differences, and administrative complexity are becoming increasingly prominent. Moreover, the collaboration underscores the shared ambition to make lifelong learning accessible and relevant for professionals in the region. In doing so, Campus Fryslân combines academic expertise with practice-oriented knowledge from public administration.

Collaboration within the NAOB
The lecture series is part of the broader collaboration within the Northern Academy for Public Administration. In early 2026, the University of Groningen, Campus Fryslân, and the Thorbecke Academy NHL Stenden signed a renewed covenant for the further development of the NAOB until 2030.
